Team Texas Commissioning Service

Led by Elder Jim Cookson, Team Texas was commissioned by East Parkway Church. Both Stuart and Renee spoke as the team circled around the perimeter of the sanctuary.

Members of the congregation laid hands on us and we gave them our individual prayer cards for them to pray for us.

This just in from one of the team.

As you know this weekend I did a garage sale to earn money so i can pay for my plane ticket to go on the Texas trip to Orange, Texas to help out with hurricane IKE. I had to earn about $380 and I did the sale fri/sat and the sale didn't do well.

It did amazing!!!!!!!!!

I ended up with about $800 and got a LOT of support and donations also from some lovely people around the neighborhood. I am so excited about the trip and cant wait!

I had a few friends who were kool enough to drop by. michael, alex, aidan, jasmin! love ya all!

Thanks again for your prayers and support!

Love,
Matthew! =)

Don't forget we have a training after church tomorrow. See you there.

HOWDY TEAM TEXAS!

We pray everyone is doing well and rejoicing in what the Lord is doing in preparations for our trip. Stu talked to "Romanian Steve" last week; weather was mid 70's and they are booked up with teams each week up through our trip, even to July. Looking forward to continuing the "team building" at the next training this Sunday after second service. It has been a blessing for all those attending the fundraisers, as we are already experiencing COMMUNITY within our team.

REMEMBER our mandatory meeting, 3/15: (lunch provided @ 12:30)
BRING: *Training manual; please bring it along with your Bible.
*Medical/skill forms -- we really do NEED these now :)
***A photocopy of both sides of your medical card (sorry, I forgot earlier)
*Balance due $$ (as shown below)
*Specific Prayer Request (if you want more than a generic prayer card)

**FYI: If you want your sleeping bag or tools, etc. to go with the driving team, YOU MUST HAVE THEM TO THE PETERSONS HOME BY APRIL 1. A word of caution; they return home very early Saturday, 4/11, so you will have to get up just as early to give them your sleeping bag OR have room in your second piece of luggage. Remember, Southwest allows two pieces of luggage with a weight limit of 50 lbs each.

In Him,
S/R
"...and how will they preach, unless they are sent?..." Rom. 10:13-15

We had a great time of fellowship and training. Thank you Todd for
teaching us to follow Jesus' example on how to treat individuals
according to their created styles. We can give th
anks in our
uniqueness, yet also in our similarities.

YARDSALE: Jessica needs workers - especially @ 6am for set up and 2pm for
tear down. Call her @ 539-3605. Also, "Good Day Sacramento" has
e-mailed with interest in broadcasting from the sale. Any girls may
spend the night here Fri. eve. (after BUNCO :)

I've received four out of twenty-nine completed skill & medical forms -
please make our life easier by returning them ASAP :)
*Reminder: mark your calendars - next meeting 3/15
* Attached is the travel itinerary.

Remember the all-church prayer and fasting day tomorrow. Also, pray for each team member and those we will minister to in Texas.

God is stirring in our church as well as the church in TX about how to
get out of our comfort zone - to get out and fly -- you are all great
examples, Is 40:31. Isn't it a great feeling to be in God's will, no
matter what our circumstances are around us, to trust in the Lord and
watch him stretch and mold us into His likeness.

To God be the Glory,
Stu and Renee
